We all know and understand the importance of maintaining close relationships as we go through life. The Mayo Clinic reports that adults with strong social connections present a reduced risk of many significant health problems including depression, high blood pressure and an unhealthy body mass index (BMI). In fact, studies have found that older adults who have meaningful relationships and social support are likely to live longer than their peers with fewer connections.
Networking and making new connections is a fact of business that will never lose its importance. Business professionals who successfully network with other industry members are often at the forefront of new trends in their respective industries, share insights with each other, and receive valuable mentorship, guidance, and advice on any number of topics and issues. Business networking is important because it allows professionals across all industries to identify new opportunities and increase their chances of entrepreneurial success.
One the best things about being a headshot photographer is that my circle of friends, associates, and contacts increases and improves each time I collaborate with a new client. I’ve helped support the careers of nurses, facilities management professionals, actors, musicians, social workers, IT professionals, psychiatrists, surgeons, corporate vice presidents, and personal trainers (among others) during my time as a headshot photographer and am constantly learning and broadening my horizons as I work and grow with each of my clients in our respective vocations.
I recently conducted a photo session with Marla Isidro and was again reminded about how awesome my role as a headshot photographer can be. As Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Business Development of Axianta Financial Partners, Marla leads over 200 highly diverse (and geographically separated and matrixed) financial planners that support a wide range of financial needs for their clients that includes retirement planning, insurance, wealth accumulation, estate planning, and business succession.
Marla is … as the old saying goes … a mover and a shaker. She was recently highlighted in USA Today as one of America’s 15 Talented Wealth Coaches Creating a Positive Impact and is currently working on a TEDx Talk titled “Do I Have A Story To Tell” that will be recorded and published on November 5, 2022.
Her energy during the session was infectious, her smile was a delight, and she even brought Hawaiian food to our session! Wow!
